Dayenu - I had one of the best meals of my life at Cucina Rustica in Sedona (same owners as Dahl and DiLuca, recommended above). If you get a chance, go - and you must have the flourless chocolate cake for dessert. My friend and I ooh'd and ah'd over it so much the people at the next table said to their waitress, "we'll have what they're having". It was a When Harry Met Sally moment.

Actually, dining is a problem as the kids will be doing all driving, and on vacations they like to go to a bar - this is why we need a restaurant within walking distance.
I will take a note on this restaurant, thank you, all! |

remember Faina that a lot of these hotels have a shuttle service and with a couple of dollars to the driver, they are more than happy to drop and pick you up..especially if you've been drinking with your boyfriend, Kal!! :)) Oh, I made a mistake. Took Mr Again to one of the GTGs, and now they are drinking together, and I'm just sitting there looking at Mrs Kal :( And they not just drinking, they talk about slut machines :(( |
Faina..
I feel your pain.. :)) |
We're back after much too short vacation, and here is my observation. I am only speaking location-wise.
There are 3 main areas: Sedona, West Sedona, Oak Creek. I did not get "the feel" of Oak Creek as there is a major road construction going on, fences, orange cones, detours... So cannot speak of this location. Forget Sedona, stay in West Sedona unless you want tranquility. West Sedona is where all those "WOW!!!!" red rocks are. There are also shops and restaurants for walking around. We stayed in a nice place, but next time I would stay in the West Sedona. |
Are you working on a trip report for us? Looking forward to it :)!!
|
Yes, I am. It's fermenting ;)

Oopsss hit "submit" too fast. Michelle, I think we ate at the same pie place - was yours Rock Springs cafe off 17? We liked it, the service was fine, but we didn't try those pies.

That was the place where I killed a large insect.

Dayenu,
The place you stayed IS in West Sedona. The place with all the shops and galleries close together is called uptown Sedona, which is east (northeast, actually) of the "Y". http://www.lonelyplanet.com/maps/nor...ca/usa/sedona/ |
Mike, you are right, but for us it was not west enough :))
