Or if you want a walk-around breakfast, pick up a bun from the Mee Sum Chinese bakery on Pike Place (across from the main arcade) and wash it down with a cuppa from the original Starbucks (the one with the anatomically correct mermaid) a few doors down.

The Top Pot (under the monorail) is right in the middle of (Tom) Douglasland, what with the Palace Kitchen, Lola, and the Dahlia, not to mention his new banquet hall, all within earshot of each other. Of course with some of Douglas' places, Tacoma is within earshot. :$

I also like the Athenian for breakfast, or Lowell's, a door down, especially the booths upstairs that look down on the market arcade. Both Lowell's and the Athenian offer great views of the harbor BTW.

In the market there is The Donut Stand which cranks out mini donuts on an old fashion machine. You get a bag of hot mini donuts with chocolate, plain, sugar etc and can walk around and munch on them! yum!!

Etta's has brunch on the weekends too.

Most of the restaurants mentioned here are o.k. I like good food- Matt's was good- and casual. I tend not to go to Corporate restaurants like Icon, Il Fornaio, even Tom Douglas places but some people tend to like the dependability of those There is always a line at Cheesecake Factory. There are good place just a bus ride away too.
