Personally , if they are good crab cakes, I wouldn't even bother w/a sauce, maybe a squirt of lemon.

I wholeheartedly agree with the previous poster.

ronkala Jun 15th, 2009 09:22 AM

Exactly, why compromise the taste of the crabcakes with a sauce?

artsbabe Jun 15th, 2009 09:40 AM

I agree. This Marylander says no sauce.

I like a quick sauce of mayo, finely chopped freshed tomatoes and tarragon ---- good on any fish!

In related news, I have been told that it is shaping up to be a very good year for crabs on the Chesapeake this year.

Another vote for "no sauce".

If the crabcakes need sauce, then the crabcakes need to be made better.

Again, I would have to vote on "No Sauce"

I have been to a restaurant that served theirs with a wonderful papaya chutney...

A true great crab cake needs none..
I like a little remoulade on the plate so every bite, I get a little bit of the sauce..I'm a sauce guy!
