Can anyone recommend a nice place to stay in Saratoga Springs?

I would recommend The Gideon Putnam Hotel at http://www.gideonputnam.com/ there are also several lovely bed and breakfasts. If youare planning to go this month,reservations may be a little scarce - racing season is in full swing.

If you have trouble finding accommodations right in Saratoga, I would highly recommend Kings-Ransom Farm Bed & Breakfast in Schuylerville, a quick 10-15 minute trip from Saratoga. They have 3 beautiful rooms, an in-ground pool, and the owners are the best.

The Gideon Putnam is the best, but it will likely be booked solid, especially with the Travers Stakes (a/k/a the Midsummer Derby) this weekend. If you want to find something now, another suggestion would be the Saratoga Rose, a lovely inn and restaurant in Hadley; it too is about 15 mins. from Saratoga. If you're looking at coming sometime in September, the selection should be much greater after Labor Day when the racing season ends.<BR>Enjoy!

Thanks for the advice everyone. I'll call them all and see what I can get! Hopefully a midweek reservation won't be as difficult (I'm going right after Labor Day) so we'll see.<BR>
