Now I really know why people are trashing the bay area on these posts because people like yyy live there.

And San Jose is such a pleasant place due to people like Robert, xxx and the others in San Jose and San Francisco? Sounds like one big rivalry that maybe should be argued about on AOL or Yahoo "Society" or "Social Issues" sites and not a travel board?
Just a thought.

I live midway between San Jose and SF in a university town called Palo Alto where Stanford is located. I appreciate the cultures of both cities and recognize that they are very different. I think I speak for most of the people in this area and I also think that we are being suckered into a "one upsmanship" between two very immature people. I would guess that now that school is out this will happen more and more often. C, in answer to your original question, make reservations for BBB, some good restaurants, but don't set your hearts on seeing great fireworks in SF because of the fog. Firework displays are not the be all and end all of the 4th of July so play it by ear. There is a lot of celebration in the city other than the fireworks. I think they have some at Coyote Point( near SFO) as well which is south of the city along the bay, but you'll need to check www.sfgate.com. Ignore the rest of this garbage. Some of these posters are making residents of the Bay area look like nut cases. I would wonder if they actually live here?????

Kam, it is so good to hear from you again, no I haven't changed my mind about goin to SF but I got a little ticked off at thes guys and let them get to me! I hope I run in to you while wer'e there! I think we're going to a concert near your guys (The Who!) and what do you say? Spur of the moment thing but how many chances do you get to see rock icons in your life at an outdoor theatre? Thanks Kam

Beach Blanket Babylon is OK, but there are far better things to do than that...However, I do second Moose's, it's great! One Market is also good....

I too will be in San Fran 4th of July week...If you have the chance, go to Sears Fine Foods for breakfast...You'll have to wait in line, but it's worth it...
