No way we can make a lunch because Mrs Kal is usually swamped on Sat during the Christmas rush as is I-80.

Am staying at the Suites at Fisherman's Wharf. May or may not have a car depending if DF gets there by then. But S.F. is usually easy by foot or public transportation, so shouldn't be a problem getting to most places in the city, right?

One of my favorite places is L'Osteria del forno at 519 Columbus (www.losteriadelforno.com), but you know the city better than I do, so I'm open to trying new and different places.

Topping. Probably, people are out for the holiday, the forum is slow.

Lunch or dinner?

I'd rather do dinner--I never drink before 5 (except in Europe :D). Or we could just do Happy Hour and those that want to linger on and do dinner could do so.

Alas..we have our wine group champagne Holiday party that evening. Enjoy y'all!

Any extra invites for that group Holiday champagne party? Sounds like a blast!

Let's group ... after 5 it is, are we crashing the champagne party, or having our own? I don't do happy hours (never drink without food or I slide under the table) but can eat and drink at 5 or later. Will not be checking this site frequently till 11/30 but keeping 12/2 open. Prefer a location closer to Union Square or Market Street.

Oddly enough I will be at Post/Hyde that week...think I am spoken for but will keep checking this post just in case.

O-O, Cafe Metropol is not open for dinner on Saturday, should I check for another continental food restaurant or we go chinese at R&amp;G Lounge on Kearny? Food is fresh &amp; delicious and there's a full bar.

Kearny isnt that dangerous at night. But I guess it is all a matter of perspective.

I29, it's not just Kearney, it's the 2 buses I'd have to take to and from.

OK, here's the story. I haven't packed yet and have to leave for the airport in one hour, so may not be able to check in again from home. Don't know if I have Internet where we're staying, if so, no problem checking tomorrow. If not, well...will have to do this another time. So, if you post the time and place, I'll be there.:D

Ummm... the location is OK, but which place? I ate only one lunch at Tiramisu, that was awful!

Faina, since you have the information where artlover is staying you can call the hotel, if she isn't in her room you can leave a message. Phones, they were invented before computers, lol.

Hi Faina, I assumed you know artlovers name as I have never met with someone without knowing their name.

BTW, I love Plouf's but since you don't eat mussels that would probably not be a good restaurant for you.

I never knew a menu posted on a website can be so deceptive and misleading!

From Plouf's website, they have such a nice selection of all kinds of dishes, including my favorite salmon.

What I didn't know - they put mussles in every dish??????????
