Sacramento restaurant in Old Town

Please help! What is the name of the fun restaurant in Old Town by a yellow bridge? It is also by a big parking garage and by some railroad tracks. It's on the river and has fun music and pretty good food.

We can't think of the name and we want to meet friends there on our way up northern California. Seems like it was close to the freeway also.

Thanks for your help, Barbara

Joe's Crab Shack is next to the Tower Bridge on the river. Could this be the resturant you are refering to?

Perhaps your trying to think of Fanny Anne's Saloon on Second street. It's a great "fun" bar but they also serve food. Be sure to check out the restrooms after a few drinks!

Sacto GTGs are like the weather...
everybody talks about one but nobody does anything about it. [(

JayZee....that's not funny!!!! ;)

Yeah, yeah, yeah...the ol' "I'm leaving for Cabo" excuse.
If I had a dime for everytime I heard that one!:-d

Have a safe trip!

Joe's Crab Shack is the closest to the Tower Bridge and the Parking Garage while still being next to the railroad tracks and is on the River. Wow that's a lot of convergence of landmarks isn't it!

toncasmo Oct 20th, 2006 10:22 AM

i'm in sac- actually live in carmichael which is a food wasteland but work and go out in sacramento all the time

Kal Oct 20th, 2006 10:28 AM

Suuuuuuuuuzie...the Delta King is ON the river. Joe's is next to the river. :O)

Suzie Oct 20th, 2006 10:40 AM

Oh brother Kal ;) Geez this is why I couldn't possibly go to a GTG with you!!! ;)

Going to a wedding soon on the Delta King and yes it's on the river and Joes Crab Shack is not ON the river but beside the river.

Kal Oct 20th, 2006 10:47 AM

Since we answered the Q that the place is Joe's....

Suuuuuz....we have a Sacto GTG pool to see what your excuse will be for not showing up....besides me being there.

I have "Tea with the Queen". Am I close? :-?

BTW...have you tried "Mas" yet? The old Cafe Bernado's?

Once Mrs Kal and I shake off our respective colds, we're grabbing the lovely and now living in So Placer Co. Cobbie and will prob hit it or the new Blue Nami. Just in case the Queen is busy you have an open invite for the mini-GTG. ;)

Suzie Oct 20th, 2006 11:00 AM

What is the Blue Nami?

Visited La Provence, completely mediocre but will have to give it another go since I purchased 2 of those gift certificates that channel 10 or some radio station promotes.

Probably don't have tea with the queen coming up but I do have 2 kids (16 & 12) keeping me on my toes! I should be driving a yellow car with checks on the sides if you catch my drift....

Kal Oct 20th, 2006 11:09 AM

'nami is a new sushi place that will give Mikuni's a run for it's $$$$.

Their 1st location is in O'vale and is always SRO.

It seems like LaP is either a big hit or a big miss. We've just ate munchies in the bar so far.

Haven't been to a Sat wine tasting at the next door Cap Cellars all summer. Where DID the time go?:'(

BarbAnn Oct 20th, 2006 01:00 PM

I'm in El Dorado Hills. I'm up for a GTG.

Suzie Oct 20th, 2006 01:02 PM

BarbAnn, been to Masque? Since the big hubub change? I was there before the change,it's one of the best restaurants in the area.

BarbAnn Oct 20th, 2006 02:11 PM

Suze, I was at their deli for lunch today. I eat at the deli quite frequently. The food has gotten better. The gals I ate lunch with today had dinner at Masque earlier this week. They commented that it still has great food. I haven't been to dinner there since one of the partners left.

"Sacto GTGs are like the weather...
everybody talks about one but nobody does anything about it." - this is because I live too close for comfort... may show up :))

Anyone tried Gaylord's yet? Was there last Friday and the service was a little uneven (inexperienced waitstaff - not at all unpleasant just not sure of some things) but the food was great - especially the rogan josh and garlic naan.
