Ruth Chris's Steakhouse has arguably one of the best steaks I've ever eaten. The wait staff at the restaurant we visited in Toronto was very pleasant and approachable, asking if we had ever eaten there before. When we said "No", they explained how to order (steaks are served a la carte, with sides ordered separately and served in family-style dishes to pass around the table).
The steaks start at around $24, and are served on plates that are heated to something like 500 degrees. Butter is added to the plate just before it is brought out, giving it a "fajita" sizzle. If you do opt for the butter, hold your napkin up when the waiter serves you, as the butter will splatter your clothes.
Dinner for 2 (without cocktails, with one dessert) cost approximately $100, including tip. It was worth every cent! Enjoy!
