Restaurants in Santa Fe, New Mexico
 

Hi, My friends and I are going to be in Santa Fe on the 3rd week of October for 5 days. We would like some recommendations of not to miss restaurants in Santa Fe or the outskirts? What is the weather like at that time of year? Also, what places should we visit? We are all first timers to Santa Fe. Thank you.

But, just in case the search engine misses it..... the one thing you can't miss is the charred tomato salsa served by the Ore House, which overlooks the plaza.

What kinds of restaurants are you looking for?

Besides the museums, sights and attractions of Santa Fe itself, usual day trips are Taos, maybe including Taos Pueblo and the Rio Grande gorge bridge, and Bandelier, maybe including Los Alamos.

Guadalupe Cafe and El Farol are my two favorites, both in old town.

Weather in mid-late October—days range from cool to warm depending on amount of sunshine and wind; nights quite cool. Snow is always a possibility at that time but not likely.

I'll be on the road this time tomorrow heading for Santa Fe. Yeah!!!

I would warn that I was recently very disappointed with Cowgirls. Food wasn't bad, just tasteless - even with green chile!

Just tried The Pink Adobe after their recent purchase by a big time corporation. After going there for 18 years it was hard to see any changes but I have to say the food was a notch better, service a standard higher and the decor had a much-needed freshening -- Rosalea would have approved.

Thumbs down today to Ore House. While I understand they run on &quot;Ore House&quot; time, it was <i>really, really</i> bad. Several tables, albeit grumpy high-maintenance tourists, got up and left before their drinks arrived -- of course, they were ordered about 10 minutes prior to their departure. And our waiter was one of the culprits but we just went with the flow. Similar to when you are in the islands, everything is on island time, except here it's Santa Fe time. :( Ten minutes is nothing, right??

Everyone here is still talking about La Boca. So check that out as well as others mentioned on the Santa Fe restaurant threads.

It's incredibly busy this weekend and I hate it. I think we'll stay in Tesuque until Sunday evening until it clears out a little. I wish all of these grumpy tourists would go away. :)

Hi, DH just returned from NM 2 wks. ago. He really liked The Shed restaurant close to the Plaza. He also would recommend the historic walking tour. And, he enjoyed the Turquoise Trail, especially Madrid.-check out the Mine Shaft Tavern &amp; Restaurant in town -very authentic old roadhouse.
