It was pushing 50 F yesterday in the Denver area (gorgeous scenery, lots of Fed. stuff); snow today, but give it a week, and you could probably golf.

Fort Collins, Colorado- under an hour to Denver, great schools, low crime, friendly people, an hour to Rocky Mountain National Park, 300 days of sunshine a year. Gotta love it!

"But it takes a long time to be accepted as anything other than a newcomer, partly because folks are somewhat reserved by nature, and partly because not many new people move to some of those smaller towns."

These are the type of people I feel that once you have earned their trust, you have a solid friend and/or neighbor. In my opinion (too many times), the ones that are friendly (too friendly) right off the bat, are the ones to look out for. There are many backstabbers and two-faced people in the D.C. area.
