I vote dallas though. Better city planning. Drier air. Nice people both places, too dallas is a lot smaller than houston. The equivalence is when houston is compared to d/fw. Dallas, mid cities, and Fort Worth. Which ft worth is nice too. But I like houston too. Don't know Phoenix.

Have you tested the job market in GIS is those cities ??. . I would expect your best chances of landing a job in your field would be in Houston. Austin is a nice place to live, but no Oil company presence. I have friends in Houston who live inside the loop without a car and they have no issues with the Houston public transportation . . and it will only get better when the east west rail line is finished

Movingsouth -any updates?
I was going to suggest Austin..Dallas has limited public transit depending on where you live. |
Would be interested to hear how you got on. Any feedback on job market in each city?
Also considering a potential move down south to escape the bitter cold winters, and these cities are on my list. |
Just so you know... Summers are pretty brutal here in Dallas - I puld not want to be relying on public transit and being outside in 105 degrees...
Just food for thought. Depending on what you do - I think the job market here is decent. Cost of housing is great too! |
