Edna: As this has been stated MANY times in this forum, if you do not want to read a thread,

Actually, Patrick, joebob did give advice on a good Italian restaurant in D.C. today...

Peter
Let them all keep going. It simply proves registration, while making it more difficult for the rest of us, hasn't and won't eliminate the problem people.

Testing
Testing

OK it works. And I was slow to register. I promise to write something controversial or funny (if I can think of any thing).

Oh, how about this. Our MD's in New Jersey are going to strike on Monday to protest the cost of malpractice premiums. OK, I know its not travel but it is controversial. And its the best I could do on the spur of the moment.

This thread had become very ugly earlier and I see the editors have attacked it. All those posts of mine now make little sense as most of them were refuting the insults being thrown around.
Please realize when I suggested above that joebob be banned it was because of a number of posts which have been removed. I have no personal vendetta against anyone, but apparently some other people do.
Why can't we all be friends?
Yawn boring cnmiranda has been posting on this board for over a year, mostly on the Europe forum. This is the first time I have ever seen he/she get angry. Isn't this a case of the pot calling the kettle black? Where's your travel related posts? Regardless, I'd rather have a boring board than have to deal with rude people. Let's just see if fodors disables the offenders web browsers. I hope they do.

Registration is NOT great.

B
O
R
I
N
G

That's my opinion. Hope fodors let's me express it.

I think registration is fine. I think it's too early to judge how good or bad this board will be.

Have a lovely day!

-Darvy

Hi there all!
Registration will not prevent trolls and meanies from posting on these forums. It will only make it more time consuming for them to post/reply under various aliases. If you look around, there is still plenty of mud slinging around. The one thing that registration has been successful with is making this site dull and monotonous.
Happy Travels
Rick

Wow, after being gone for awile, I can't believe the new post-registration look/style of the fodor's forum. INSIPID! BORING! Definitely not worth a daily check!! How sad, I used to love taking a peek at what was being posted on my work breaks. The travel repartie was great and informative and the wit in the trolls was fun too. Too PC now! IMHO. (and it takes way too long to post as well!!)

I can't believe Fodors made such a significant change without also implementing the ability to edit your post! Duh....

Patrick Feb 1st, 2003 05:17 AM

I keep seeing posts about not being able to edit. I don't understand what you mean. On my computer, I can type out a response and check it over and edit as many times as I want. I can even turn on the spell check if I want. It won't post until I actually press "post my reply". Isn't that what you are talking about?
