Sara: Do any of those bakeries you have already called do a basket of goodies - that includes black & whites? Maybe you can still do this.

The Washington Post printed a receipe for black and whites that was great(I'll look for it).<BR><BR>Black & whites in NY have a thin hard frosting.<BR><BR>In Boston, we called them half moons and the frosting was soft and creamy.

Fairway on Broadway and 74th Street always has Black and White cookies. Don't know if they deliver It is a 15 minute walk from the hotel.

Don't ever buy them if they are wrapped in plastic.<BR><BR>That's a sure sign that they aren't fresh.<BR><BR>I still call them Half Moons.
