I may be wrong, but my understanding of the various posts with respect to Priceline customer service (or lack of same) was not that there wasn't an 800 contact number, but that you were never actually able to get a live representative to talk with you.

And sorry to dissapoint your paranoid mind, Andrew, but I'm not RJ.

Andrew Oct 30th, 2002 11:00 AM

This is getting dangerously far away from the topic of travel, but...

Yes, "tinkering with Hotmail & Yahoo addresses" is exactly what I recommend people do - or rather, getting a separate free email account for web posting on all forums (no need to get one for *every* web forum like I do). Very easy to do, a lot of my friends do it. Hides your real email address. At least you are not anonymous.

It is frustrating to have people reply from what could be any number of addresses. One of the downsides of this forum. I am almost to the point where I won't reply to people who at least don't provide a consistent name. I'm not sure I ever want to reply to anyone with the user name "xxx" or "yyy" again.

I don't get much spam to this address, surprisingly enough. I don't think people would have to change their Yahoo! or Hotmail addresses very often - once a year? Doesn't matter - you can simply give people whom you want to keep in touch with your real email address. Throw away your free email account when you get tired of it. Quite easy to sign up for a new one. Not a lot of effort for anyone but people who like to whine and complain, I guess.

Andrew
Isn't it interesting how Andrew ignores the information about his web site? Why don't you tell Nina the address Andrew. I could, but it should come from you, not me. I'm devious but I, at least, have my limits. How often did you say it snowed up there by the way? I wouldn't want to go there if it snows much.

How can you afford all that travel without a job, anyway? Or, did you find a job, more or less?

nina Oct 30th, 2002 11:09 AM

While you 2 boys slug it out, I'll just wait patiently for that website.

Oh, by the way, I did speak to 2 live people when I called Priceline, without a long wait if I remember correctly. Perhaps I traumatized them and they will no longer answer the phone.

yyy Oct 30th, 2002 11:13 AM

Oh, Andrew, I'm so upset! You mean to tell me that if I don't run out and register for a new forum email address, you'll never respond to me again? How will I ever live?

I realize you place great stock in the idea of 'consistency' but I think the whole concept is highly overrated. After all, you always use the same address (or maybe not, who can really tell?) and all we've seen is that you are consistently annoying.

Do me a favor. I'd be most honored if you never again responded to me.

Andrew Oct 30th, 2002 11:20 AM

Let me apologize to everyone for being goaded into spats with a few of the posters here. This thread has gotten dangerously off-topic, and I suspect it will be deleted soon anyway. I have written to Fodors admin and suggested they remove my posts in this thread.

I repeat that I've gotten great deals on Priceline - I can't speak for the customer service because I've never needed it.

Andrew
aaa Oct 30th, 2002 11:28 AM

No doubt Andrew is working feverishly to get this entire thread deleted now that he has been exposed for what he is.

Remember where and what you heard it next time you see one of his posts. I certainly will. This is just the stuff we try to avoid by using fodors, then end up with it anyway.

heywait Oct 30th, 2002 11:29 AM

Andrew, are you the same "Doctor" Andrew who posted about baby ear infections on airplanes a while ago?

yyy Oct 30th, 2002 11:31 AM

Andrew,

You've shamed me by your noble gesture. Let me also apologize for my behavior. You were kind enough to share information with us here, and like a jerk I just lashed out and tried to be funny at your expense.
Again, to ANdrew and all the other posters, I apologize.

Elmo1 Oct 30th, 2002 11:40 AM

Andrew,
Don't worry about this being deleted, I copied the post and will re-post as necessary.
So...Rita WAS a fake, wasn't she????
Good call, notbuyingit.

susan Oct 31st, 2002 03:51 AM

Do a text search on Andrew's address and look at other things he has written. There are 3 distinguishing characteristics about his writing style which also appear in Rita's note. His fingerprints are all over it. So, not only is Andrew a shill, he's a cross dresser!

yyy Oct 31st, 2002 04:10 AM

Susan, if you go a step further and check out Andrew's website, which he himself has broadcast in his posts, you'll find he's in serious need of a membership in the hair club.

And furthermore, the last post claiming to be an apology, purporting to be from yyy/[email protected], was not from me. Not that I don't apologize to any other posters for getting off track, but I have no apologies for Andrew who constantly stalks and harangues anyone who has anything critical to say about Priceline, who then calls me and other posters cowards, and who makes up phony posts. Nice try Andrew or whoever, but you've only demonstrated yourself to be the jerk here. I think my responses were fairly tame under the circumstances. Now I hope all your personalities will go play nicely with each other and be sure to have a nice day.

What'sthe Oct 31st, 2002 04:18 AM

OK, then would someone post the damn website already???? How can we go and look at it if we don't know what it is???? What's the big secret?

yyy Oct 31st, 2002 05:52 AM

Sheesh. This is really not rocket science. Just look at the email address he posts with his messages. The domain is his website. Put www. before the domain and there you have it.

tellmedanny Oct 31st, 2002 06:52 AM

Danny,

Why have you left this thread up and deleted the second priceline thread that actually had valuable information in it?
The best part about the 2nd thread was that no one had started calling other posters names.
What gives, Danny?

ohyes Oct 31st, 2002 07:21 AM

See when "Rita", who lives on the east coast was writing? 12:25 AM. Rita keeps late hours. Of course that's only 8:25 PM Andrew's time.
Beginningto Oct 31st, 2002 07:33 AM

yyy,
well excuse me smartass. A simple answer would have sufficed. Sorry to put you out, thanks so much for yoour help.

yyy Oct 31st, 2002 07:38 AM

Thank you for your kind words. And based on your own rude response, I'm sure that you and he will be lifelong soulmates.

sss Oct 31st, 2002 08:44 AM

Hmmmm...Rita never did report back with any phone number. At least someone else jumped in with a real number. So much for Rita's helpfulnes.
