I have had no, zero, none, nadda problems posting. I use both MSIE and Foxfire - tried Opera but didn't want the free and didn't want to pay either. Actually, one I really like is Lynx, a text-only browser.

Maybe it is, or isn't the browser, but I think it must be SOME setting on some computers vs others. Otherwise why would only SOME Fodor readers have problems? <b>Something</b> must be different between the pc s of those of use who do and don't have problems browsing.

Hey, Hyacinth, not everyone can have access to the slimline &quot;opera&quot; in your exclusive postal code area ;)

Seriously, I (and many others) am at work so can't install any additional programs.

While probably no longer true, I think some of the earlier versions of Opera were so small they could be run from a diskette and didn't even need to be &quot;installed&quot;. I tried Opera awhile back, but also tried it back when I had a Win 3.1 PC. When you think about it, some of the new features that browser have today are exactly the same &quot;features&quot; that plague us; like pop-ups, animated graphics, flash &amp; macromedia.

If I get time I think I'll see if I can find an old version of Opera &amp; try it on a XP or 98se machine. If it will run from a floppy it should run from a usb &quot;thumbdrive&quot; too. I'm glad bu-kay (buk-it?) brought up that name.

It seemed to be better there for a while. But I've had problems with every post this morning. Anyone else noticing the same?

Yup...they are back. I think it may have to do with this big ad at the bottom of the reply section. The problem started about the same time the ad began to appear.

FainaAgain Jul 12th, 2006 09:13 AM

I have to hit &quot;post reply&quot; several times, doesn't matter if I hit the one on top, or the one on the bottom.

The first 2-3 times it gives me a blank page, but once I get to this screen to post, seems no more problems.

I'm having the same problem as Faina. But I'm also having a lot of trouble with the &quot;preview my reply&quot; function. I just replied to a post about Plymouth and had to hit preview 5 times before it finally came up. Very frustrating!

Yes, I'm having problems again too! Good thing I've learned to copy my post before I try to post it!!!!

Yeah, I try to remember to do that too, Utahtea. So frustrating when you lose a long post!

utahtea Jul 12th, 2006 09:48 AM

Oh, by the way, incase a techie person is reading these. The last couple of times when I tried to hit Preview or Post (when the post is off to the left) it opens a new window and there was no text in the box. You have to wait until you get a preview that is centered, re-enter your post before it will post.

My favorite issue is posting a reply then having it show up only in &quot;post a reply&quot; mode...somebody que the Twilight Zone music!

Gotta wonder how many summer interns will return next year! ;-)
