Post-Graduation Trip
I am graduating from High School on the 6th of June and my friends and I want to take a short trip during the following weekend (7-10). Originally we were thinking about Seattle, but are open to new ideas. Our budget for tickets is $250, hotel price does not matter, and we have no specific preferences. All other expenses arent an issue. |
What happened to your trip to Europe . . . and Japan . . . at the same time?
|
How about somewhere in the southern states such as; Texas, LA, Tennessee, or Georgia, maybe a long weekend trip to New Orleans. You could also look at colleges when you travel.
|
Going to this trip June 7-10, Europe 12-26, and a wedding In Honolulu in July. Busy summer :) |
I live in Seattle. It's a great city. Why don't you want to come here after all?
Where do you live? Can you get a plane ticket to Seattle for $250? |
Where do you live & what are you looking for...beach, mountains, city?
|
They live in Southern California, Los Angeles.
|
Going to Temple U in the City of Brotherly Love :). I will be attending with my friend and we will move in together. We will go next spring for their dual admissions program. Any discerning or optimistic facts about Philly or that University? |

Be aware of safety concerns. Someone I know who applied there for graduate school had a lecture during orientation for a couple of hours that was all about safety. Stay in groups, don't use the ATM there, etc.

Is the safety concern unique to Philly? As compared to cities like LA or NY? And also yeah I will visit it beforehand probably in August to check out the area too. |

My understanding was that it was the part of Philly where Temple is located. |
Hey Butterfingers--it is probably true wherever you go!! The bottom line is to always wherever you are be aware of your surroundings. You've probably been brought up in school with drills for an active shooter--how depressing is that!!
Have fun. I think Seattle would be a great getaway. |
Yea we want to live somewhere that actually has different seasons. Plus Philly is close to everything so we can visit a new place every weekend (if two broke college kids could afford it) LOL |
Denver. The Mile High City.
|
Temple University is not in the best section of Philadelphia, but the issues are not unique to Temple. Most big cities have the same safety issues. Many of my friends and a couple family members attended Temple with no issues. Just use common sense.

Philadelphia is a very good choice. So much to do....historical sites, fantastic restaurants, great night life.
|
I agree about Philly. Our son went to UPenn and enjoyed his time there, and we enjoyed visiting him. You can also get to NYC and DC easily.
|
Philly is a great town and I didn't mean to imply otherwise. I just didn't know if you realized how dangerous the area around Temple was. And yes, very convenient to NYC and DC.

Philadelphia is a fantastic city to spend your student years in. There is so much to do and it’s very easy to get around the city. My daughter is attending school in West Philadelphia, another not so great neighborhood, and she’s loving it. |
Another question. So both my friend and I want to take our cars there to Philly for both use and a good road trip. What states will be the best to drive through to get to Philly? |
Does Temple allow 1st year students to have cars? Many colleges do not.
Where will you park your car during the semester? |

That’s going to depend on how much time you have, how well you tolerate the heat and humidity, and what you want to see. If you google map it, you’ll probably get three routes as a result: a southern one, a middle of the country route, and a route that takes you more north. I’m driving across the country from Arizona to Philadelphia in mid August and have decided to go up through Utah and into Colorado because I want to see that part of the country, plus I’m hoping it’s cooler. |

Then they need to think about where they are going to park, etc.
College is an exciting time--give the college experience a chance first before looking further afield!! LOL |
Are Brothels safe/affordable in Munich/ parts of amsterdam? How does the process work? |
It's a brothel. You pay to have sex with a woman (or man).

So you want to know how to find and be a customer at a non-tourist-trap brothel in various European cities? That's funny!
Why are you asking about Munich and Amsterdam on your United States topic thread? |

Would you go to a prostitute in your own home city? If not, why would you go to one in Europe? If yes, then you already know the answer to your question.
|
Janis suggests I think butterfingers is (just may be) trolling us again . . .
Ya think. LOL Actually I thought it was a girlie until the brothel advice came up and then I realized it was just a tweenie.. |
You can see people's posting history you know. They said (March 2018) they are a 17 year old male living in southern California... for what it's worth.

With trips in the next 6 weeks to Europe (for the hookers ? ), Japan, the Pacific NW and a wedding in Hawaii. |
Plus I don't think this was the first or only screen name either.
