No "tours" in Cannon Beach. It's just a small, but interesting and busy beach town. Surprisingly great shopping and galleries, and good dining to boot. Kinda Oregon's version of Carmel. Surrounding scenery is spectacular, too, both on the beach and at Ecola State Park, just to the north of town. Of the restaurants kimamom listed, I'd suggest you narrow your choices to Gower St. Bistro (my personal fave, all things considered) or Wayfarer (has the best seafood menu in town).

If you're planning a lunch or dinner cruise kind of thing, (like on Portland Spirit: http://www.portlandspirit.com/), best to make reservations. Not sure about the jetboats. My neighbor has a boat, so I ride with him! ;-)

Sunbum, Beachbum... Portland is full of Bums ;)

We'be there Sept 7-10, on weekdays I thought we'd just walk up for a lunch cruise without reservations, if the weather is nice. Bad decision? Will work for us?

Hi there! We are in Seaside right now enjoying the coastal life! If you go to Seaside, check out the Seaside Inn, it is right on the prom with ocean views. We had a very nice dinner there last night, great food and very reasonable prices. Desserts were amazing! Let me know if you would like more info, it is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. ***kim*** ((f))
