Polar bear viewing in Barrow, Alaska

Has anyone been to Barrow, Alaska? Is it worth the expense & effort. What are the chances of seeing polar bears in early June? Thanks

LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!
In June? Sure. They are everywhere, you can see them around the village. We call them tourists!!!!!
Do some research, cynnie.

I spent 3 days there, no bears seen. :) I agree that you need to do some extensive research and determine if this area is what you think it is?? Overall, it's not an attractive area, very costly and best hooking up with a native.

It is possibe to view polar bears in Alaska, but it is highly unpredictable of seeing ploar bears in or close to villages.

Best viewing times are April/May or October/November in the northern parts of Alaska.

Best you book a special viewing tour offered from Anchorage or Fairbanks.

I had the same idea to see polar bears in Alaska but I gave up. If you want to see polar bears go to Churchill, Manitoba mid-october to mid-november. They have special trips on tundra buggy. I think I wll go that way, too.
