Rochester NY -- Flour City which city fathers rewrote as the Flower City<BR>Boston -- not just Beantown but &quot;The Hub&quot; (of the universe, of course)<BR>Chicago - Windy City (all double entendres relevant); City That Works; City of Big Shoulders --&gt; City of Big Armpits<BR>Charlotte NC also calls itself the Queen City but with only one meaning intended <BR><BR><BR>

Surfergirl - Blighty is a colloquial name for England, and does not really mean London. It was originally used by the soldiers in WW1.<BR><BR>From Urdu &quot;bilayati&quot; � meaning foreign; passed on from soldiers of the Anglo-Indian army.
