Nevisian,

I appreciate your comments about the Moore Hotel. I live in Seattle so do not need it for myself, but am always interested in keeping up with prices of places to stay. I have a friend who stays there when he comes up from Portland and likes is fine for the price is why I have included the suggestion.

Also kindly note, especially since you'll be living here... "aka Pike's Market" is incorrect. There is no possessive in the name... it is The Pike Place Market, or The Market.

Thanks Suze, I stand corrected. If "the Market" is going to be my grocery store, I'd better have it right. You should also add that the Moore Theatre in the Moore hotel building has some great acts. I think that "Altar Boyz" just played there and Wanda Sykes taped her latest HBO special in the venue. With the high priced condos going up at 2nd & Pine and 1521 Second Ave. and the Four Seasons hotel and condos, the neighborhood is only going to get (objectively) better.

...off to Nevis next week and back to Seattle in April. Reading all these posts makes me not want to wait two years to move there. I'm going apartment hunting the next visit.

"" I know what I'm talking about ... Watch the news re: the rape and the fella who lit three people on fire by Macy's ... That's not to say I or anyone else is or should be afraid ""

Again, consider the source: someone who claims to "know what he's talking about" and who then clearly states his/her belief that a "fella lit three people on fire by Macy's".

Makes you wonder what news he watches.

Once again, the facts are wrong.

and again: "not to say... anyone... should be afraid"

(so what is the point of the original post? ~ other than for attention)

While condo prices are plenty high, believe it or not, you can still get decent rentals in great areas. I live on Capitol Hill and work in Belltown, both of 'em booming.

Oops, my post above is for Nevisian... got lost in the shuffle.

I have no idea why "lenlu" took it upon himself to be the voice of public safety and tourist services.

Thanks Suze, We've been spending long weekends in Seattle since the early 70s. It's about time we moved there and saved ourselves some airfare and hotel costs. And I've had the name of "the Market" wrong all this time! I've been looking at some rental deals on the internet and will arrive with a list of possibles and when I'm thoroughly confused, ask a rental agent for professional help.

Give lenlu a break everybody - look at all the great pro-Seattle posts he/she generated.

i didn't mean to sound nit-picky (about the proper name of Pike Place Market) but since you're moving here & all didn't want you to embarass yourself with the locals either -lol!
