What's the best time to visit Central Park?
|
During daylight hours on a sunny day.
|
It depends on why you're going.
To see the zoo - go when it's open. To rent a boat for the lake? Ditto To see something in particular - changing leaves? bird migration? Softball games from the broadway show league? Give us a clue. |
sorry :) guess that would've helped. i've been always in the summer months. this time i want to go in fall when the leaves are very colorful and vibrant. any ideas which week is the best?

Peak fall colors in NYC's Central Park are hard to pin down because a lot depends on the average temperatures and amount of rainfall there is in the weeks preceeding Autumn. Generally speaking the leaves will start turning during the latter part of September and reach their peak sometime in the 2nd or 3rd week of October. You are dealing with mother nature here so there's no guarantee - peak color could vary by as much as 10 days on either side of those dates.

That timing is way too early for Manhattan. It's even early for the northern suburbs. And for Central Park you're usually talking mid to late Oct - but you can never really tell exactly.
