I heartily recommend Billy Deans which is just north of downtown Palm Springs.

My husband is a prime rib affectionado. He claims that Lord Fletchers in Rancho Mirage consistently has the best prime rib he has ever eaten. It draws a lot of the "older" crowd; has an English pub atmosphere; the salad is marvelous; you can't go wrong here. Dinners run $16-25. During the tourist season it's a good idea to have a reservation.

Don't get too psyched for dining in Palm Springs (depending upon where you are from). A lot of "pretty good" food. Shame on the Moon is a nice restaurant in Rancho Mirage. Kind of surreal in that it's an even split between blue hairs and gay men (seem to coexhist pretty well).

Couple I found on the web that look good are Las Casuela Terraza and Del Rio Taqueria (haven't tried yet but going again next week).

We enjoy the Blue Coyote Grill on Palm Canyon. Very relaxed atmoshpere, good mexican food with lots of choices, not the same old routine.
