Ordering crab cakes online

Hi folks, hoping you can help me. I want to find places where I can order crab cakes online, and also interested if you have experience with any of the online places I list below.

I've found several for ordering Maryland style blue lump crab cakes... What I'm having trouble finding are places in California or on the west coast where I can order crab cakes of Dungeoness crab cakes or even fresh or frozen crab meat.

Any ideas and opinions (for either variety of crab) are appreciated. Here's what I've found so far:
http://www.freshcrabcakes.com/store/
http://www.crabcakeexpress.com/ http://www.crabplace.com/

Crab meat

http://www.charlestonseafood.com/mall/Shellfish.asp

Only one I've found in CA so far...

Thanks!

Don't know about your Dungeness crab cakes, but we order fabulous Chesapeake Bay Gourmet Maryland crabcakes from QVC.com. My husband is from the area, we both used to live there........ they're the closest thing to eating at O'Bryckie's in Baltimore! :-)

bb..are these the ones that cute husband and wife team sell and David Veneble is always chowing down on?

I haven't ordered them myself, but did order them from QVC and had them sent as a gift...if these are the same ones, they were a huge hit!!!

iceeu2, ONE AND THE SAME!!!!!!! They are simply wonderful, mainly just huge chunks of crab, barely held together! Wanna send me a present? :-d

Wow, I didn't know QVC sold food. That is news to me. How can I get some? Crab cakes are my all time favorite, next to Maine lobster...

Question, if you order the crab cakes through QVC, do they give all the ingredients that are in the crabcakes. I ask because I have some food allergies. Thanks.

Here's a link to the crab cakes that everyone's referring to at QVC. They also list the ingredients, nutritional info, etc. Being a former Baltimorean I too miss crab cakes. I'm not as blown away by these as others are, but they're pretty decent.

LoveItaly, you do get a list of ingredients on the crab cake package. So you know exactly what's in them.........

Heavens, go to qvc.com, click on *cooking and dining* at the top of the page, then in the left margin under *brand shops* click on *Chesapeake Bay*......... and follow the yellow brick road, so to speak. I've been buying their products for years, and they are great!

Try the Crabcake Factory in Ocean City, Md - they are the best and they ship everywhere. We have a beach house there and friends are always asking for them.

Here's another HUGE recommendation for QVC. (And, I'm from Baltimore...)

Yes, QVC...yum!

Here's a link to a local place that ships their yummy (and huge) crabcakes anywhere. It was written up in the post a few years ago as being one of the best in the DC area.

I forgot about this website and thankfully it has been topped!

Thanks everyone!! Crabcakes are one of my favorite foods, yum!

I rec'd a gift from Lobstergram--livelob.com. Everything (lobstertails, steaks cheesecake, crabcakes, etc) was amazingly delicous and fresh, arriving packed on dry ice. Oh, those crab cakes-- crab and butter barely held together, so tender and yummy!! ooo I'm drooling!

kamahinaohoku Mar 17th, 2005 05:21 AM

QVC, QVC, QVC!!!!!

The crab cakes are fabulous. And for those lobster lovers, they have lobster cakes as well with BIG chunks of lobster meat in them. (I just ate some last week, and they were amazing.)

It must be destiny! I was just looking at the QVC website thinking about ordering the crabcakes. I ordered them once before and they were great. But then I thought, maybe I should check out some other websites to see what's out there. But now that I see so many recommendations for the crabcakes QVC sells, and since I had them once before and really liked them, my next stop after this forum is back to qvc.com to place my order!

Best crabcakes, bar none, crabcake factory in ocean city. Do a search and go to their site, you can order online and you will not be disappointed. Do not remember exact street address but it is north of the condos, below DE state line. Worth going to eat there if you are in the area, don't let the simple bar/coffee shop throw you.

I've been to Stoney's and, quite frankly, can't imagine any better.

Starting to drool now.

I think the QVC crabcakes are Phillips which are also available at Costco. For heavens' sake, why not buy crab meat and make the cakes. They are no brainers.

djkbooks May 26th, 2005 10:53 AM

Well, Gretchen, Maryland crab cakes are only authentic when made with Maryland crab, which is not available here in New Hampshire.

When I'm in Baltimore, I always bring home as many pounds as possible. When that's gone, I order from QVC.

The QVC crabcakes are not Phillips. And, Phillips often uses other than Maryland crab. In fact, crab packed and distributed by Phillips is available by the pound here in NH, but it's from southeast Asia.
