NYC with Teenagers
 

We will be coming to New York City with a 16 and a 17 year old boy for a week the first of June. They both love music and comedy. Any suggestions of what would be fun for them to do or see?? Thanks for the help!

Maybe: <BR><BR>the Museum of Television & Radio<BR>Blue Man Group<BR>NBC Studio Tour<BR>a musical performance (you have to tell us when you're coming and what kind of music they like - opera? symphony? jazz? blues? rap? rock? goth?)

Would teenagers (older ones) enjoy "Noises Off"?

If they love music and comedy, Blue Man Group is a MUST!!<BR><BR>Not as good as Blue Man Group, but another option (in addition to Blue Man) is "Stomp".

We were in NYC just after Christmas with our 16-year-old son and saw Blue Man Group, and we were all rather disappointed. It certainly wasn't bad, just not as good as we expected. We all enjoyed Stomp much more (saw it a year ago). My son liked the Blue Man teeshirt he bought, though.<BR><BR>The other play we saw this time was "The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged)". Your teens have undoubtedly gotten a dose of Shakespeare in school by now, and this 3-man comedy would be perfect for them. My son and the other teens in the audience seemed to enjoy it a lot.<BR><BR>Of course, you should also get creative in your food selection... something you wouldn't find back home. We had Korean barbeque (the grill in the middle of the table) in the "Koreatown" area near the Empire State Building and it was a big hit.<BR><BR>You might check out the comedy clubs. Some (but not all) allow people under-21. <BR><BR>Plan on hanging out at Times Square for a couple hours after dark. Street musicians, artists, the lights...

In addition to these other suggestions, they might like the Museum of Natural History and the Planetarium - the planetarium has a space show and laser shows on Fri and Sat evenings.
