Alice's Tea Cup is on West 73rd, between Columbus and Amsterdam. It's a cute little tearoom with an Alice in Wonderland theme to the decor. They do a wonderful tea that is not nearly as stuffy or formal as the major hotel high teas. It's right near Central Park, so it might be a good place to go warm up after visiting the Park.

And you will need reservations for the American Girl Cafe, as far in advance as you can. It's a sugar overload, but if she's into AG (like most 6,7 and 8 year old girls I know), she will love it.

Might have already been mentioned, but do you think she would enjoy Chitty Chitty Bang Bang?

Chitty Chitty Bang Bang will unfortunately be closing December 31, so she'll miss out on that one. The other show recommendations are great though! :) You of course know your daughter best, so you'll know what might appeal to her.

I was in NYC this past summer and all I could think of was "I wish my daughter was here with me". She is also 8 and is begging me to take her to NYC in the new year. Don't miss Dylan's Candy Bar - it is great for kids and across the street from Bloomingdale's.

Oh yeah - almost forgot - if he goes to Soho, your daughter would love a store called "Girlprops" - cheap fun accessories.
