Yes, I'm a New Yorker.
For the nth time, "uptown" and "downtown" are both a place and a direction. If anyone can't grasp that fact, please do not visit NY -- you'll never survive. |
Are we all having fun yet, lol! Actually am I incorrect in thinking Marilyn's in the Bay Area along with a few others of us? Hey, Patrick, how are you, kiddo? QM2 time moving along, so don't be shocked if you receive a shipboard email. Ciao, guy, take care and hope the world is treating you okay.

I'm only an honorary New Yorker, Patrick. I now live just outside The City (the Left Coast one).

Way to tell 'em, Gekko!
Hopefully, that should get Patty and Billy to cool it. |
I am so happy that my post generated such a terrific response. I have throughoughly enjoyed reading them all. Esspecially the post from Annabel from Long Island. A friend of mine just got back from a trip to NYC. She stayed with another friend in Long Island and they went into Manhattan several times. So, since I have been to Manhattan once for a day (and now I know everything about the place - LOL), we compared notes. For some reason she had uptown and downtown confused. So when I read Anabel's response, I said "Aha, mystery solved". Maybe this uptown/downtown confusion is a Long Island thing or maybe it is an outter burough/suburb confusion because when I went to Mahattan, I was with a friend from NJ and she got awfully confused about our location a couple times as well.

Sorry - this doesn;t sound like an uptown/downtown definition issue at all - just somebody who needs a map and a better sense of direction.

I think that as often as Marilyn and her husband stay in Manhattan, they should be honorary NYers!
She does live on the West Coast but that is the US West Coast, not Floridas West Coast LOL |
