Now what happened to R&R's

Lordeeeeeeeeeeeeee~what happened to today's Rants&Raves? Surely, nothing can be so controversial as to make this great thread disappear once again!

Just to make this travel related, where the hell did the Rants and Raves Thread go?

seetheworld Apr 29th, 2005 02:49 PM

I don't know...you step away for a moment and all hell breaks loose!?!

It's really too bad :(

Scarlett Apr 29th, 2005 02:52 PM

spoilers

uuhhhh Apr 29th, 2005 02:59 PM

the last post i remember reading on the thread was ***kim*** ((*)) ((#)) ((L)) 's..... wonder what she said...

Scarlett Apr 29th, 2005 03:16 PM

Hmmm. about a hotel? a restaurant? a beach house? nah...
Politics and Fodors do not mix.
According to some, neither do recipes and talking about Birds.
:)

seetheworld Apr 29th, 2005 03:22 PM

Kim was talking about her DH and DD who went to Portland to check out a piece of property they purchased a while back. Scarlett and Kim neighbors!?! Now that's freaky ;)

wanderluster Apr 29th, 2005 03:23 PM

LOL Seetheworld :D

Scarlett Apr 29th, 2005 03:28 PM

Really??
Well, they have a beach shack and we are going to live in the city, so I guess we will only run into each other if I go to Riverplace or Higgins :)
Actually, we are considering an apt in Portland, Riverplace has apts. Awful! snicker ((6))

seetheworld Apr 29th, 2005 03:31 PM

I bet ya never thought about being neighbors, huh?!? he,he,he, I'll stop now :D

OneWanderingJew Apr 29th, 2005 03:34 PM

So I missed Kim and all her raves about the wonderful :) people in her life...Oh, too bad...What else were you guys tawking about and travelling to???

Am wondering how Ryan and a few others are doing...

Scarlett Apr 29th, 2005 03:35 PM

No, I never thought about who my neighbors would be. I sorta pictured myself in this cool Pearl Loft with only really thin people all dressed in black wafting through the building.
I can learn to waft!

LoveItaly Apr 29th, 2005 03:35 PM

Seetheworld, you are baaaaad! LOL.
But Scarlett, something to think about, you and Kim meeting at a restaurant and then you can both argue about whether it is acceptable or not! LOL.

seetheworld Apr 29th, 2005 03:36 PM

Ryan posted that his move went well.

OWJ, I posted congrats on completing your IEPs - they are time consuming! I also mentioned that we are implementing IEP Direct. I wasn't sure if you heard about it. Here's the link:

seetheworld Apr 29th, 2005 03:37 PM

"wafting" -- fabulous, my dear! Now if we could only develop an emoticon for such a movement!

Scarlett Apr 29th, 2005 03:37 PM

OWJ I think you posted that you got the house? Whooopppeeee!
LoveItaly, I am trying to learn Not to Argue :D

Scarlett Apr 29th, 2005 03:38 PM

((x))

seetheworld Apr 29th, 2005 03:39 PM

OWJ: THAT clearly is not the website for IEP Direct, lol.

https://www.iepdirect.com/iepdotnet/...ult.aspx?flh=1

Scarlett Apr 29th, 2005 03:40 PM

You mean you two are not talking about cuban cigars? ;)

seetheworld Apr 29th, 2005 03:41 PM

((x))....((x))....((x))....((x))....

Now that is wafting!

LoveItaly Apr 29th, 2005 03:48 PM

Scarlett, wafting? Love it!!!
OWJ - did you take care of all that stuff you were suppose to? LOL.
Scarlett, if there are no arguements it wouldn't be fun!
I still say that Fodor's is weird this week.
Think I need to go to the store and buy a bottle of wine. Wonder if that will help?

Fodorite018 Apr 29th, 2005 04:05 PM

I didn't see anything wrong with the FFRR thread...but I didn't see the last posts either. Regardless...at least this thread is thoroughly entertaining:D

Just to keep this travel related...found out today that our rooms tomorrow have been personally seen to by a certain person at the hotel. So, can't wait to arrive and see how lovely they are!

seetheworld Apr 29th, 2005 04:15 PM

mms: Have a special time with your friends!

RAVE: I got this kick a** new hair cut! Ionic flat irons -- a modern miracle - who knew :D

OneWanderingJew May 1st, 2005 10:38 AM

SeetheWorld,
Thanks for the link...I wonder if IEP direct is similiar to the computerized programs we use for special ed here in Georgia called Tranquility. I must say though the Tranquility people could NEVER claim to have 100% satisfaction--we are anything but tranquil when using it. Our system has glitches and isn't always user friendly. That being said, its a helluva lot easier than when we did all this stuff by hand!!

Where in NY do you teach? I am a product of Ramapo Central Schools (Suffern) in Rockland Co.

OWJ

OneWanderingJew May 1st, 2005 10:40 AM

MMS,
YOu probably posted on the FFRR but how's your son and how are you doing w/all of this????

I wanna waft through a loft!

Scarlett May 1st, 2005 10:56 AM

LOL, GoTravel!
If someone would just buy this house already!! then I can give live updates on Wafting!!

starrsville May 1st, 2005 10:57 AM

OWJ - do you teach sped in Fulton County? If so, I may have some free materials for you. What grades?

GoTravel May 1st, 2005 11:05 AM

Does anyone remember the Sylvester cartoon where Elmer Fudd and Sylvester spend the night in a haunted house and the mice are terrorizing Sylvester? Where the mice stand on each others shoulders and throw a sheet over themselves to make them look like a ghost?

I think the ghost was wafting.

Wafting wafishly through lofts.

OneWanderingJew May 1st, 2005 12:26 PM

Starrsville,
I do teach in Fulton Co., in Alpharetta to be precise :)

I'm in a middle school and have 6th grade right now but my kids function lower so could use anything you're willing to send my way. I'm not proud. I'm a teacher. LOL

Are you a rep or former teacher??

Email me at onewanderingjew at hotmail.

And THANKS!!!!

starrsville May 1st, 2005 12:30 PM

I'll email you now.

Fodorite018 May 1st, 2005 02:17 PM

OWJ--thanks:) ds is doing fine...running all over the neighborhood with his friends and running track, and runs with dh. So he seems totally fine. We still don't know anything really. Two totally different opinions...and waiting on the 3rd. I am coping much better. DH flew home early on Friday after being away for all of this. Girlfriends came down from Seattle and we did a girls weekend and it was just what I needed (well, maybe minus some of the alcohol, lol!). So hoping to hear something by tomorrow or so and see where we go from there.

LoveItaly May 1st, 2005 03:44 PM

Hi mms, I was happy to see your post, since the R&R had been deleted.

You and your family are still in my thoughts too. Wishing you all nothing but the very best of news. Take good care. And I am glad you had time with your friends. That is good.

OneWanderingJew May 1st, 2005 03:45 PM

MMS,
Aren't friends just the best?? And what's a little booze? Put a little fruit juice in it and you're hitting several food groups. Liquid diets--love 'em ;)

All joking aside, I do hope tomorrow brings good news and a huge sigh of relief.

I'll be thinking about you guys,
OWJ

seetheworld May 1st, 2005 03:50 PM

Hi OWJ! I live in Westchester County -- not too far from Rockland County. I teach in a large district that is a cross between a suburban and urban setting with a diverse population of learners (many second language learners).

Tranquility, huh? Nothing about special education is tranquil, lol! But working with high needs students is a very fulfilling profession.

seetheworld May 1st, 2005 03:54 PM

Hi mms! Glad you had fun with your friends :) I too am holding good thoughts for both you and your DS.

PamSF May 1st, 2005 11:17 PM

Ah Scarlett~to waft through a loft dressed in black looking like someone other than a sicilian widow sounds like a dream for me:)

I am still thinking about that Jo Malone facial as our trip to NYC draws nigh. Good luck with the move! And do remember should you spy, a rainbow icon in Portland, run for your life!!

One of my dearest friends lives in SW Portland(up near Strohecker's). He had a wonderful brown standard poodle I referred to as my "god dog"(RIP). Poodles love Portland!

MMS~I missed what's happening with your son. I do hope all goes well. Kids bounce,it's true!

May next Friday's R&Rs survive the editors.

PamSF May 2nd, 2005 09:22 AM

ttt for those addressed

Fodorite018 May 2nd, 2005 12:07 PM

You are all so sweet, thanks:) Yes, the girls weekend (and liquor) were just what I needed.

OWJ--to didn't bother with fruit juice, lol! Brought a blender to the **** hotel, lol!

Pam--DS is being checked for lymphoma. Its been a living h*** for the last couple weeks. Still getting more opinions though and right now we may head down to SF for another.

PamSF May 2nd, 2005 12:33 PM

mms~I'll hold a good thought.

Scarlett May 2nd, 2005 12:36 PM

I have nothing but positive thoughts and hopes for a good outcome mms.
And for your Pup too!

A realtor looked at our house to buy for himself.
He has just called and wants to come back for a second look with his contractor pal.
Fingers crossed...I am anxious to pack up and drive for days and days and ..... to Portland!! :D
