Now I know what the excitement is all about!
We're 12 days in with four to go. Have been to Oahu, Kauai, and now Maui.
It's all a visual feast! Light, air, shimmer, golds, deep blues, greens, blue-green, dark clouds, white puffs. crescents, fish of all colors, brown and yellow turtles, wind in the palms. Add your own... |
the flash of yellow tang in a breaking wave, a cascade of red bouganvillea down a slope, to quote Mark Twain "plumy palms drowsing by the shore," a whale breaching in Kealekakua Bay, waterfalls cascading rainbows in a deep green valley,. . . . and to add the other senses--the scent of plumeria in the soft air, the taste of ripe papaya, Kona coffee in the morning while waiting for the sun to crest Mauna Loa and light the Kona shore, the rhythm of the surf, lulling you to sleep...

JamesLee: I hope you'll give us more details when you return.
How did your lodging choices work out? Which island(s) and/or areas did you like best? I remember your posts during planning, and am glad the reality is living up to your expectations. |
You're making me wish I were there (again). Sounds wonderful.

funny, I always thought I didn't like Hawaii... that is until I actually went for the first time!! I've never been so wrong about anything. Hawaii is fabulous, amazing, can't get enough.

Yes. It's divine, isn't it? We have been there about 12 times and keep going back.
