Night tour NYC
Our first trip of NYC is fast coming up...early Nov. Can anyone suggest a good company to book a night tour of the city for first-timers? One that is around 2 hours?
|
Was reading up the NewYorkPartyShuttle/Tour. anyone tried this and can send me a feedback please?
|
Sorry - cannot imagine why anyone would want to do a bus tour of NYC at night. There are so many great things to see/do/experience - why in god's name sit in a bus and have listen to some garbled account of a list of the the fronts of museums and office buildings.
Don;t know the party shuttle myself - but on another board read a recent complaint about a cancelled trip, being added to another group and a "guide" that didn't know much. |
At night, it's great to go to the Top of the Rock (Rockefeller Center), to see the Empire State Building and the city all lit up below. I am not sure what time it closes, though, so check on that.
Maybe a Circle Line tour on the water, around Manhattan, at night? :)>- |
Thanks for your view nytraveler. I can understand it is not very challenging sitting in a bus for a couple of hours but we will be there for 5 nights and are already booked to see 2 shows....hope to get some last minute tix to more. As we dont have a car, thought that might be the next best thing to see the night lights.... different angle from Top of the rock.

I can't think of much to see at night that would be better on a bus tour. You will be in the theater district, so you will see Times Square - pretty awesome.
Top of the Rock would be fun if it is open. Perhaps a bus ride down to the Staten Island Ferry and take a Ferry ride over and back. You will see the Statue of Liberty, and Brooklyn and Manhattan skylines - at least a good view of part of each. Otherwise Manhattan is a lot of people walking around - or not - depending on where you are. |
