I met someone who lived in New Hampshire and went to school in Vermont.
I guess it's still a possibility these days in the northern parts. https://www.wcax.com/content/news/Ve...554176801.html

Vermont spends about 20% more per pupil than New Hampshire. About 90% of those education dollars come from the State of Vermont compared to only 30% from the State of New Hampshire, which relies more on local sources. Vermont is a more rural state, so per pupil costs might be expected to be higher, but Vermont, decades ago, closed many of the local town schools (which was very controversial at the time) and provided for regional schools. Those schools along the Connecticut River Valley have looked inviting to some rural New Hampshire communities. The Town of Haverhill, for example, in the last year considered closing its local Woodsville High School, and consolidating with a larger nearby Vermont regional facility, but the locals, in an apparently parochial act, decided to remodel their own school instead. Their local high school was spending something like $22-23,000 per pupil before counting the millions to remodel.
