rf299 - Yes, you're right. I don't come off looking good. I'm uptight, and easily agitated. But, that's who I am. If my travelling companion writes his version, I'm sure it would be QUITE DIFFERENT!

And in case you're wondering, no he doesn't really have stab wounds.

JNN1964

That was one of the funniest trip reports I had ever read.

What was your relationship with "IT" before the trip took place and how would you categorize it now??

jnn1964 Jun 26th, 2003 05:16 PM

Our relationship? Hmmm... Think Oscar and Felix, Laurel and Hardy, Gilligan and the Skipper, Ralph Kramden and Ed Norton, Wren and Stimpy...

I get mad at him. We don't speak. I forget all the bad stuff, and call him. Or, he calls and says 'you never call me anymore!'. The cycle repeats itself. I think two days together is about all we can stand. You'll notice the first two days of our trip were pretty tame.

As soon as we got back, he said 'so let's go to Yellowstone next time!' I told him to go to expedia.com, type in 'yellowstone', buy a ticket, and take his dam self without me! Of course, the more I think about Yellowstone, the more I want to go...

Oy. Such is life.

tss tss, I am sure you did the trip alone, and the IT is just your other self

;-)

just kidding

jnn1964, I don't know what your day job is but you should consider quitting it and becoming a full time writer. Very amusing!

jnn1964-(good year to be born by the way) What a hilarious trip! I was late getting going this morning because I had to finish reading. You should be a writer! I laughed out loud! I hope your next trip is just as crazy so we can all get another good chuckle at your next trip report! Thanks for the smile today.

Whew! Thank you for sharing your experiences in such an entertaining fashion. I suppose your posting was late because it took you two months to see the humor in it! You reminded me of Bill Bryson's wonderful book about slogging along the Appalachian Trail with his sometimes annoying, often endearing, friend.

You are hilarious! We went to Las Vegas last summer and your descriptions are right on. I love reading your stuff. Thanks for a real belly laugh!

Bravo!!!! Loved your report.

quote - 'I wish I was an idiot!' I say to myself. It looks so easy!

I agree.
Does your friend have a twin? Because I think I know him.

Great trip report.

I'm glad so many of you enjoyed reading this report! It was fun (and a little therapeudic) to write it! Maybe next time I should write about my nutty relatives. Of course, to post it here I'd have to take a trip with them... Yikes!

Please at least publish a book out of this if not a movie. It's a great comedy. Thanks for the entertainment! Where did you find this "travel companion?" I never would have survived him (or he survived me!)
