Don't worry, missy, not everyone in NH is as bitter and nasty as Adam.

Isn't it interesting that the only really rude posts on this thread are the ones that accuse others of being unpleasant? And that the MA residents seem to be trying to be helpful?

I moved to MA ten years ago. I would never live anywhere else now. It's expensive but worth every penny. Consider the high cost of living an investment in your children.

Jim,
Some of the MA people sterotype BIGTIME (even Missy). The thing is is that people naturally get defensive when someone attacks something that they like. Guess what? I would HATE to live in MA, but I don't go stereotyping and saying that all MA people are this or the schools are this.

I have NO idea where Missy was looking, but the people in So. NH are not hicks or hillbillies or anymore stupid than some people in MA. On the contrary, I think that the people in NH are more courteous and friendly.

Hmmm...I wonder how come we have so many transplants from MA...

Haven't you noticed? We're sending you all our cranky people.

Taxachusetts v. Cow Hampshire - not since Lincoln - Douglas has there been such a great debate.

Ilovenh; You dont go stereotyping? you just did in your post.

I live in Boston, have a good job and can't wait, every weekend, to go to Northern New Hampshire. As I see it, people there live the good life. People see it as an investment in their children's education to spend top dollar and live in a $400K community, but I grew up in middle income Connecticut and did just fine. There are plenty of great places to live and educate kids in VT., ME., NH, RI and CT. Realize that money just doesn't buy you everything!
Hi Missy,
I also live in Sharon which has great schools and a convenient train line to Boston. I noticed you mentioned 300K. Unfortunately you will not be able to purchase a starter home in the towns you want for 300K. You may need to consider towns outside the 128 Belt to get whay you want. I love Massachusetts but it is pricey and you should know what to expect. Towns to consider may be Franklin(train), Mansfield, Stoughton(train) which have very good school systems and more affordable pricing. Good luck and if you have specific questions I would be happy to reply. |
LOL, it was easier to find a house for $300K back in 2002 when Missy posted!

mbohn99, what possessed you to revive a 3-year-old post? Missy could have moved there, had 2 more kids, gotten a divorce, remarried, and relocated since then! Or maybe you've mastered time-travel?! ;-)
