Midwest Holiday Trip

We need suggestions for a short 1-2 day trip just after Christmas. We would like a small town/country/snow village atmosphere. Needs to be around OH, IN, MI.

I'm not sure what you could do in Santa Claus, IN for 2 days, unless you go to the amusement park. There's a big statue of Santa, a post office, and a few hotels decorated with Christmas year-round, but we had a hard time killing an afternoon there.

I've never been there, but I read about these places in a travel magazine, you might want to check them out. They were promoted as places to celebrate and "old fashioned Christmas".

Indiana - Connor Prairie (a pioneer village in Fishers, IN)

Indiana - Zionsville (a small town near Indianapolis). Known for "antique stores, specialty shops and quaint cafes".

Ohio - Ohio Village. A civil war-era living history village.

Ohio

Ohio Village in Columbus has an old fashion Christmas with chestnuts roasting, period costumes, crafts etc. Another thought is Zoar Village in Zoar, Ohio.

Nashville, IN - about 40 minutes south of Indianapolis - more shops than any of the other places mentioned, and it is right in the center of the Hoosier National Forest - very cute, quaint shops, good "homey" restaurants, and beautiful scenery
