Seem to remember the last big one that hit the islands, in this case Kauai, did a near right angled turn from south of the island !

CNBC just announced that the "hurricane" has been downgraded to a tropical storm. Have a fantastic time! Just got back two weeks ago, and wish we were still there ( SIGH)!

It's Sunday and I am broiling in the Oahu heat!! I sure could use a little rain! If it hits us tomorrow, it will be a tropical storm. no worries.

It's now Monday and we are on the N Shore of Oahu. We had a little drizzle this morning. The storm has basically just turned into a rainstorm, even further south in Hilo on the Big Island. And just remember, if it rains in HI it is still warm.

At the moment, the weather's still perfect on the N. Shore of Kauai.

Tuesday, and we had a fair amount of rain and wind, but nothing dramatic. The whole thing has just about fizzled out.

Just as I thought - NOTHING. All Media hype. If anything, the waterfalls on Maui are going to be better. On Oahu, it is a little cloudy. Honestly - this is no different than any other day.

I hope everyone who said that they might not go went and is having a great time.

National Weather Svc spox says today will look like a wet tradewind day on Oahu--i.e. not even unusual.

Yesterday and today are wet windy days on N Shore of Oahu, but the rain comes and goes, and it is till warm, so if you get a little wet it does not matter.

Bbig, gusty winds in Manoa last night...I was happy we had our trees trimmed LAST week. This evening, it is calm and everything looks so clean!

Hey everyone! I'm back from my trip to Maui and JUST as we'd prayed...there was no storm. It drizzled every now and then (think sprinklers on your lawn) and didn't last for more than an hour. Not once did it damper our vacation and it made the scenery that much greener and prettier. Just thought I'd give ya'll an update! =]
