Mailing Postcard From US to UK
How do I send a postcard from US to UK? And do I need extra postage stamps? Or forever stamps?
|
First-Class Mail International
POSTCARDS Canada $1.15 Mexico 1.15 All other countries 1.15 http://pe.usps.com/text/dmm300/notice123.htm So, $1.15. Use stamps with their value printed, not "forever" stamps. |
You'd need the "Global Forever" stamp, not the regular one.
|
Now I've learned something too.
|
Well I think you COULD also use regular stamps but the value needs to equal the $1.15 postage required. I've just stuck on 3x forever stamps and that worked too.
|
I didn't realize there was a "global" forever, but my understanding was that regular forevers were for domestic use only, with the actually value not readily apparent. The solution, obviously, would be to just take it to the post office with any stamps she has already, use what she can & buy any she needs, if any.

The Global Forever is interesting, too--round shape, and gold-toned picot of the moon.

From the USPS website:
<Customers can use Forever Stamps for international mail, but since all international prices are higher than domestic prices, customers will need to attach additional postage. The value of the Forever Stamp is the domestic First-Class Mail letter price in effect on the day of use.> |
As always, excellent information. Now I need to talk to you about Puerto Vallarta.

Meet me over on the Mexico forum. I've always got a PV thread running there ;-)
