jimjim, read the original post. jacquiro specificallly asked for someplace pretty and cozy, with a TV in the room, and she doesn't want to get out too much because she's pregnant. Salish fits the bill. I certainly wouldn't have recommended it for a couple that wants nightlife and a lot of stimulation.

I'm sorry Tansy, but I really can't imagine any place more "nowhere" than Salish Lodge. Sun Mountain Lodge, Great. Skamania Lodge--well it has the Columbia River Gorge and on Sunday it's really cheap. But Salish Lodge, I don't get it, but obviously others do and you are one of them.

What about LaConner? It's really quiet and at least there is a town to wonder around.

I second the suggestion for the Stephanie Inn. I toured the property a few days ago. It is simply gorgeous. Some rooms open up right to the beach with beautiful views of Haystack Rock.

I went in to check what the menu was for the night. We had just had what they were offering the previous night, so we passed. I was very impressed with this place. I could have checked in right then if we didn't have a beach cottage a few minutes away! www.stephanieinn.com I'm sure they are offering some nice winter specials right now. ***kim*** :)

Isn't the Stephanie Inn really expensive? I couldn't find their pricing on the web, but I seem to recall it as being about as expensive as it gets on the Oregon coast.

Orcas, I have a brochure right in front of me that I picked up. Amazing, but no, not too expensive.

An oceanview Wicker Room with whirlpool tub, gas fireplace, wet bar and large balcony goes for $189/night. They are now offering a December Internet Special that your second night is half price, Sun.-Thur. This is an excellent time to stay at the Stephanie Inn!!

Rooms go up to $399/night for the Oceanfront Carriage House Room but the $189/night room sounds very nice to me. ***kim*** ((l))

Gadzucks! Not bad indeed, especially with the second night at half price! Ah well, we're off for Victoria, anyway, but maybe next year!

Have a great time! I'd love to see Victoria this summer. I bet it's beautiful around the holidays. ***kim*** :)
