Looking for hotels that offer a breakfast buffet package
I ma looking for hotels in hawaii that offer a breakfast buffet package to get you started in the am. This seems to work well for for us.
|
Which island are you talking about? The medium-priced Outrigger Keauhou Beach Resort south of Kona on the Big Island offers a buffet breakfast package.
|
At this point, any island is fine.
|
Most times it is less expensive to get a hotel without breakfast and get your own breakfast at many places in the islands
Some examples are Oahu Eggs n things http://eggsnthings.com/aboutthe.htm Stella Blues on Maui http://www.stellablues.com/ and others |
Just a thought here but I don't think I would choose an island based on whether or not the hotel offered a breakfast buffet. There are lots of places to eat on all the islands to not make this a deal-breaker.

The hotels in the Marriott chain usually have a breakfast buffet deal on some of their rooms. I just looked and saw one for Hilo. We like those deals too - they work for our family.
|
Just had to chuckle a bit...I would have never thought to pick a vacation based on a hotel breakfast.
They better have some good bacon!!! |
Ditto.
|
I sometimes have to double check those Marriott deals. Once on the phone they were telling me they had a great "bed and breakfast special" including two free buffet breakfasts each day. After much more pressing, I found out they had another "weekend" special without the breakfast. It was $40 a night less than the one with breakfast. The buffet breakfast there was $11.95 a person and there were two of us. Guess which plan I settled on.

although i sorta agree with the others above, i'll try to offer some help.
most of the large brands offer breakfast-stay rates. one of the best offers i know of is from hyatt for AAA members, and they have 3 very-good-to-terrific resorts (oahu, maui and kauai); breakfast and 10% off prevailing rates which i've used a couple times this summer (including for a fab stay at the Grand Hyatt Kauai): http://www.hyatt.com/hyatt/specials/...?category=1840 |
Don't all Embassy Suites offer breakfast?
Ditto on not breakfast not being a deal maker or breaker. I'd much rather find a good bakery and buy bagels and cream cheese to eat in room. I also always try to get a condo. |
Actually, I have to admit that one of my favorite parts of a vacation is finding a great breakfast buffet. If you are considering Waikiki, the Outrigger Reef has the Shore Bird restaurant, which has a very well-priced breakfast buffet and is open-air with good views. the last time I was there (2003), the price was about 7.99 and dollar-off coupons are easy to find in the free magazines you can pick up on the street. I love lingering over breakfaast there, and then walking a few feet to the beach. The Outrigger Waikiki has Duke's which has a bfst buffet also, pricier than Shore Bird.

We stayed at the Embassy Suites on Maui
and it was very nice and had a great breakfast every morning and drinks and snacks in the afternoon(all included in the price of the rooms). The restaurant there is very good also-the doors open out to the beach. |
All things being equal, I would prefer a good deal with breakfast and parking included; however, I would know in which city or on which island I was seeking such an offer.
|
I'm with you! I want the most value-no matter where I stay. A few years back we were delighted with the pkg at the Waikiki Parc Hotel. They have a car/breakfast buffet(Japanese&American)hotel deal that worked great for us. I was on their site recently and it looks like they still offer it. A lovely hotel, understated elegance & top-notch service.
|
I'm glad your experience at The Park Hotel was better than ours. We had sewage backing up into our tub and the room was so small we could hardly walk around the bed.
|
It is surprising that you wouldn't have a preference for which island you want to visit. Maybe start with someplace like those Pleasant Hawaiian holiday package deals and ask them this question?
|
The Westin Maui has a great breakfast buffet that you can tie into your stay there.
|
Have you considered renting a condo and doing your own breakfasts?
|
Sheraton Maui Resort on Maui & The Princeville Inn on Kauai. Both were excellent, but the Princeville had a fabulous view of Bali Hai that is etched into our minds. AAAAHHHHHHHH
