I love Cow Hollow Motor Inn - perfect for me!

How about a KAL age joke?
:P :P :P |
>>'picks, Mental budget?<<
Yes, mental budget - meaning Mr. Pickle hasn't said, "I want to spend $xx or less on hotels per night," but when I showed him a couple of websites, he thought they were too expensive, or he was horrified at the thought of paying $20 or more per day for parking...so he definitely has some amount of money in mind but he hasn't shared it with me yet. :-) >>If you do check out P'line or Hotwire, some of the "B"=Boutique hotels are nice and comfy. We've been getting the Galleria Park quite a bit on both sites, although Club Quaters has been coming up too.<< I noticed a boutique hotel link on Bidding for Travel, but didn't look at it; I'll have to do that. Thanks for the tip! Lee Ann |
ttt & good example of a travel thread...

Hi LeeAnn, I usually stay at the Villa Florence Hotel, due to location, the great hotel staff etc. but I agree with Kal, it is a pain to unload your luggage if you are coming there by auto which you will be. I take the ferry over so don't have that problem.
Hotel parking fees are expensive generally speaking in SF...figure about $40.00 per day unless you get some kind of a hotel package that includes parking. |
We had our "final final" at Kuleto's Sat night. ((B))
Parking was no problem since we were in a taxi....I think. :-? Ms. Bets, Growing older, just not "up". :* |
My parents & 3 other couples are all going to Hawii returning through San Francisco. They are celebrating their 50+ anniversaries together. They'll b there for 4 days (2 full days actually). I've been enlisted to try to find them an inexpensive hotel to stay in that is close to "everything". Sounds like Cow Hollow, Pacific Heights or Columbus Motor In is in their budgets and there will be 2 couples to a room. I'll check out those sites. Any other suggestions for the 73+ age group? They'll be there in mid-March.

Great thread - saving for future reference.

Traveller3, try the Cow Hollow Suites. They have some two-bedroom suites which look really nice. www.cowhollowsuites.com

Second the recommendation on Columbus Motor Inn. We stayed there in Sept based on comments here and on TripAdvisor and we would stay there again. Great location, clean and spacious for 3 of us, and reasonably priced. A block away from the Marriott where we stayed previously at twice the cost.
