JoeTro-Congratulations on getting in UCLA! Sounds like you are all set with your housing for at least the first year. As others have said, take some time to get to know LA and I think you will like it. UCLA is a beautiful campus and the West Side of LA is very nice. With all your studies, you probably won't be driving too far from campus, but if you get a chance on weekends, get out and explore. I did that when I first moved to LA and it helped alot. Also buy a LA county Thomas Guide Map first thing. You can get one at Staples, Costco, bookstores. It is absolutely essential to finding your way around. Actually I just bought an updated version of both LA and Orange County. I am sure you will get a chance sometime to check out the Newport Beach, Laguna, etc.
