The days are going by soooo slowly :( Only four days til our feet touch the soil of Hawaii island!!!! :D

marty, the Kona storms/winds that are happening here now are largely bypassing Maui and the BI. Kauai is apparently being pounded as are parts of Oahu. Our ride over was a little bumpy as we flew through what they call "The Pineapple Express".

Thanks wekewoody--hope it's not too bumpy on the flight--we have first class (courtesy of frequent flier miles :)) )--and I want them to be able to serve lunch.

I just checked the weather channel maps and it looks like Oahu and Kauai are going to be rainy for the next ten days. Several years ago we were in south Kona, staying in an ocean front house without solid walls!, when a Kona storm blew in--I've never seen it rain so hard. At least this time, we're staying in a house with solid walls if that happens again.

Three days to go--woohoo!

Already have lodging and car rental for 4 weeks in 2015-Feb-March. But that's soooo far away. Maybe will look into a week in November. :D

Hi louis, We currently don't have plans for any trips to Hawaii for a while. Italy is on the radar screen in June as are visits to several national parks in the west/southwest next year. Maui in February is always an option for us.

Hopefully a week in October, the island is TBD, with (adult) kids.

Just got back and it was the best time in the 13 times we have been to Kauai. partly because it was 10 days instead of 7. That made a huge difference. Weather was awesome..plenty of snorkeling, great hike and bikes ride (1 more thing crossed off my Kauai Bucket list - still have that Puka Dog to eat though)..
HNL in February 2015 to celebrate with my sister her 70th b'day. Just girls......

I'm just back from an awesome trip to Northern Ireland, Florence & Venice. Sooo incredibly beautiful. I took more than 2,000 pix!

The wedding is all planned! The condos are all booked. I'll be in Kauai in exactly four months. It feels like such a long wait. :-(

Shar -- So glad you enjoyed the trail. That's a favorite place. So magical. I just wish the access road wasn't so horrid.

21 days til we land at O'ahu. Four days there, five days on Big Island and five on Maui. Not as excited as I should be due to some problems happening here with my 92 year old Mum but hoping everything will be okay so we can still go.
