Kimpton 1 day sale

Sharing for Kimpton loving Foderites, I received an email this am good for 1 day sale. I saw lots of $99.00 and many $139. with some BlackOut dates. The code is ONE.

Thanks for the heads-up! Did they mention the specific blackout dates?

vjpblovesitaly Nov 6th, 2008 08:16 AM

I think the blackout dates are by city

Can you give us a little more info?
I am unable to get a special rate at any I am testing.
Possibly you can cut and paste the email text?
Or a link?

TxTravelPro Nov 6th, 2008 08:25 AM

Thanks, vjp... that helps a lot!

BeachGirl247 Nov 6th, 2008 08:31 AM

I've been trying different hotels and all say that the code is not available for that date. The dates I'm choosing are not in blackout dates listed.

I'll keep trying, though. Thanks for posting this!!!

Thanks for the link, vjp. However, like BeachGirl, I'm told that the code won't work for my dates even though they're not blacked out. Perhaps this is one of those e-mailed codes that just isn't transferable.

Anonymous Nov 6th, 2008 09:59 AM

Aha! I had been entering the "ONE" under "promotion code" but it should be under Rate code.

BeachGirl247 Nov 6th, 2008 02:11 PM

Never could get it to work for me on several choices of locations.

TxTravelPro Nov 6th, 2008 02:11 PM

Ditto, Beach... :(

Well, I'm glad I didn't miss it then :-)
I wanted to see if I could beat my current rate at the Muse.

The Muse was $239 for Jan 16-20; I checked!

The link worked for me just fine... I booked Hotel Monaco in Portland, a king suite for 164- early in january.. just one night. We're going to Portland to visit friends and just staying one night downtown to shop and go to Powell's!

Thanks to 1JAR for alerting me... although I did get the e mail in my inbox after I read the post here.

:)

Fodorite018 Nov 8th, 2008 07:27 AM

onemoneygirl--The Monaco is great! Even though we live here, we have stayed there several times for events in downtown. I hope you have a great trip here:)

starrs Nov 8th, 2008 07:31 AM

The Monaco in SF is my favorite hotel. Let us know how the Portland hotel is.

Fodorite018 Nov 8th, 2008 07:54 AM

Starrs--I can tell you, well, actually I just did:)

starrs Nov 8th, 2008 08:04 AM

Duh.
Sorry, mms. :-)

onemoneygirl Nov 8th, 2008 08:17 AM

Thanks for the recommendation mms... I've heard so many great things about it on this board over the past years... so I jumped at the chance. I'm happy to visit and stay with friends for three nights... as long as I have my shopping fix and get to try out the hotel! :)

I'm troubled that so many others weren't able to take advantage of the sale.

I love Portland and am greatly looking forward to the trip!

Fodorite018 Nov 8th, 2008 08:32 AM

onemoneygirl--The restaurant onsite if really good too (Red Star Tavern). Their signature drink is one of my favorites. Keep an eye peeled for celebrities too. We were in the elevator one time with a very tall man. When we got out I mentioned his height to DH, who told me who it was. Some famous basketball player, lol!

1JAR Nov 8th, 2008 08:33 AM

You all are welcome. I am glad it wrked for some. Wish it had wrked for more..

My give back to all the Foderites who have been so very helpful.

Thanks so much 1JAR, I was able to get the Muse in Manhattan for two nights in January for $239 vs. $349. I had it in my plans but hadn't booked it.

1JAR, THANK YOU so much for posting this! I already had reservations at the Hotel Palomar in Wash. DC, but this brought our room rate down to $111 a night, with 50% off any wine during our stay! Since there is a great wine bar/restaurant (Urbana) attached, you can bet we'll be taking advantage of that offer. I just called the hotel reservations line directly, mentioned the offer, and they took care of it for me. This is our first stay at a Kimpton Hotel and I must say, so far I have been extremely impressed with their professionalism and customer service.

As a side note, I did try to get back on this site to report my success as an encouragement to others, but I have not been able to log onto Fodors for a few days. Too late, I'm afraid.
