Key West Hilton
 

Going to Key West for the first time in August. Anyone have any info on the Hilton? What is the Sunset Key?

Stayed there last July. Had a room on the second floor overlooking the water. The view was astounding...got coupons for free breakfast every morning we were there. Great hotel, great location.<BR><BR>Robert<BR><BR>excuse all typos and syntax...written rapdily!

Hi Amy:<BR><BR>No, we did not go to Sunset Key. We probably passed through it on our drive to Miami but it was not a destination. You'll love Key West, my wife and I take two vacations a year. One with the kids and one without. Without question Key West and Maine are great places and you'll have a good time.<BR><BR>If you rent a scooter, do not rent one near the Key West Hilton, spend a few bucks on a taxi (or walk) and go to Moped Hospital. Their mopeds are much newer and the rental rates are about 1/2 of those in Old Town. I'm envious of you...I'd like to be heading back to the Keys soon.<BR><BR>Regards,<BR><BR>Robert

Sunset Key is a wonderful little private island with a fabulous resort of the same name owned by the Hilton. You get there only by taking a boat that leaves every half hour from the dock at the Hilton. It is featured on the cover of July Victoria magazine. The accomadations are all gorgeous cottages, with a first class restaurant. A perfect place to get away from the riff-raff of Key West, yet easily accessible so you can go into town to drink and dine.

We are headed to Key West for Labor Day. I wanted to stay at SUnset Key but its &gt;500/room and they wont cash in any of my Hilton points. (I have 200k.) <BR> <BR>Is the regular Hilton nice? <BR>Anyone been to the Courtyard By the Sea or the Courtyard Waterfront? <BR>Neither are mentioned here. <BR> <BR>thx

curious why Fodors doesnt mention the Hilton in their book or on the Web.
