We just got back from Leavenworth and used a few of these suggestions. The Italian place is called Visconti's...and there is the more casual brew pub room on the 2nd floor and the nicer room upstairs. We were in the brew pub and it was fine...wonderful food, window seat...waitress a tad grumpy but everyone else seemed nice.

Stayed at Hotel Pension Anna which was wonderful! Very nice owners, great location...within walking distance of everything but not smack in the middle of all the tourist shops...on Commercial street so a bit quieter. Will definitely go back as they were very helpful in several aspects.

The other restaurant we ate at was Andreas Keller. Very fun evening! Good food, live entertainment, very enjoyable.

Tons of great hikes in the area! Can't wait to go back at Christmas.

We just stayed in Leavenworth this past week. Wish we would've seen this board before going.

First, we stayed at the Enzian and found this place to be wonderful.
Never saw the Soup Cellar but now wish we had. Where exactly is it located?

Second, we had dinner at the Tumwater Inn and, please believe all those that have posted, please avoid this dump. Overpriced, food was horrible, and while we did like the service better than most of you, the place was very dirty. We almost walked out the minute we walked in but they didn't have many people in there so we figured our meal and service would be fantastic. WRONG!!!
What a dumpy place.

We sure liked that little store outside town heading towards Stevens Pass. (right next to the river) We got some taffy, some jam, and a couple clocks the kids will like.

Next time, I read this board first. Amazing how you folks hit everything right on. Good work Gang

Thanks for all the info - My husband and I will be going to Leavenworth in September to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. He loves Saurbraten and we will definately avoid Tumwater Inn with all the bad reviews. Any good recommendations for the best German food?
Thanks.

When we were in Leavenworth for May Day festival we had dinner at King Ludwig's. We thought it was great. When you first walk in there is a small quiet dining room, but if you follow the signs you can go to the Patio (I think that's what they called it) where there are wooden tables, a band playing and a very festive atmosphere (all inside). They served a lot of food! Remember being too full to eat most of my schnitzle!

Have fun!
