"I don't go into pubic buidlings to wash my feet."
Best typo of the day. |
janisj: The 'loo'? hmmm.
Ok, now you know I don't stick my feet in the sink. Here's the drill: Take a paper towel Wet it Wipe your feet (if you're particularly shy about this, go into a stall in the 'loo'.) Dry your feet with a dry paper towel. Or don't. |
(The 'loo' was a joke)

I think this entire thread is a joke. Cheers!

It has been raining so much I think the supply of rain will have been used up by the time you get here and it will be just nice sunny days...maybe a bit too warm.
And IMHO too many tourists are excited to go to MOMA when the Met is the best museum in NYC (maybe the world). Lots more for kids at the MET. |
MoMA is the best modern art museum in the world. The Met, however, is in the top three general collections museums in the world. It is a matter of which genres one prefers. MoMA is not only of interest to tourists but to NY'ers as well. We took a friend and her two daughters to MoMA and when explained the craft and the history involved with certain paintings, they were enthralled. We cultivated their interest in art and now they preceive things differently.

Flip flops in rain?? No way-- Crocs are the answer -- no soggy soles slapping mud onto your legs and lots of cushioning, I have the slingback style and they are cute enough for any restaurant. Also, pick up a $1 poncho in any grocery or drug chain, it's about 4 x 5" and weightless. Carry w/ you always and you're good to go. Wear lightweight, wicking pants that will not be soaked for hours (never tour in jeans or sweats) and you should be good to go!

After 50 years in Manhattan I never go out without my folding umbrella. On the otherhand, these days I only wear my Reeboks. They get me thru all kinds of weather. If you all have sneakers that's what I'd wear. And if you are going someplace where they're not acceptable... carry "good" shoes in the backpack or whatever. But I doubt there's anyplace where you'll be personas non gratas (??) because of sneakers. I wear mine to the opera, ballet, etc.... For the few fine restaurants I frequent I suffer in "real" shoes. Bon voyage..... it's supposed to re realllly hot when you first arrive. -:)

Crocs would work...
