Indianapolis-Hotel

Looking for a recommendation on a moderatly priced hotel in downtown Indianapolis. Going to visit friends that live on the east side (I believe) and thought we might prefer staying downtown to take advantage of nightlife/restaurants.

confort inn and suites downtown is very moderately priced but not as "in the middle of downtown" as say Westin, or Omni Severin. The Holiday Inn Crowne Plaza is also great downtown location too but these are more pricey than the Comfort Inn.

Thanks for the info. I was able to locate a web rate at the Wyndham Downtown for $48. Can you tell me anything about this property?

Debbie, I live south of Indianapolis a bit so I follow the Indy hotels as I use one occasionally. I don't know of a Wyndham in downtown Indy. When I look on Wyndham's website the only one they list is way up on the north side at Meridian Street and I-465.

Here's a list of hotels I'm aware of in downtown Indy with an approximate star rating. I list the general distance to Circle Centre mall because that's the heart of the downtown action.

I've been using www.biddingfortravel.com to help me with www.priceline.com and occasionally getting the 4 star Hyatt or Westin for $40 to $60 a night. I won't bid 3 star in Indy out of fear of getting the distant Doubletree.

5 star
Canterbury – attached to Circle Centre

4 star
Westin – Skywalk 2 blocks to Circle Centre
Hyatt – Skywalk 1 block to Circle Centre

3 star
Adams Mark - 2 blocks to Circle Centre
Doubletree University Place – over a mile to Circle Centre
Marriott – Skywalk 3 blocks to Circle Centre
Radisson - 2 blocks to Circle Centre
Crowne Plaza – 2 blocks to Circle Centre
Omni Severin – Attached to Circle Centre
Embassy Suites – Attached to Circle Centre

2.5 star
Courtyard at the Capitol - about 6 blocks to Circle Centre
Courtyard downtown - 5 blocks west of Circle Centre
Hampton Inn downtown – across street from Circle Centre
Residence Inn downtown - about 7 blocks to Circle Centre

1&2 star
Comfort Inn - 4 blocks south of Circle Centre in the middle of nowhere.

David,

Thanks for letting me know that the Wyndham is north of Indianapolis. For some reason, I thought it was downtown.

I'll check into the hotels you listed. You've been very helpful.
