I check out all of your requests and am currently milling everything over. Nothing I saw fit "the ideal" that I have in my head, I guess you could say I am very picky about what it is I am looking for. I will continue to take to heart any other suggestions though. I want ultimate seclusion, VERY forested, near a creek or small river. I don't care about modern conveniences at all and don't mind hiking into it either. Thank you!

Ok Stressed, this is it!! http://www.mistyfjordsair.com/cabin-rentals.html

Stressed it seems to me just about everyone mention secluded cabins in the woods near creeks and peace, maybe you should just buy a lovely Kincaid and stare at that.

Rent Russ Meyer's Common Law Cabin.

You can't blame me for being picky, but none of these places were as forested as I liked...that is until the misty fjords suggestion..which looks like it could be it for me! I love it! :)

Dear Stressed<BR>Cool...:-) If you go, post a trip report!

I sure will! Each of the cabins look great, then I clicked on and found the rest of the cabins all over Alaska, they all seem perfect too! :)

The San Juan Mountain Hut system in SW Colorado, and 10th Mountain Division Huts near Leadville, CO, get pretty close to what you're looking for.

RC, I know this is a rather old post but I am interested in talking with you about your cabin. I stumbled across this blog looking for writing cabins in Alabama ( I'm in the Birmingham area) No electricity or running water means no distractions. I have a few similar places that I can go to write but none this close to home which would be nice. If you get this, post back here and let me know if we can talk further. Thanks, Hall

'Rather' old - the bleedin' thing is FIFTEEN years old. :)

If you want advice/info it is better to start a thread of your own. . .

RC is no longer an active screenname on this forum, so unless they happen to be here with another name, you won't get a response re the AL cabin.

You may want to check AirBnB to see if you can find something in AL you like.

Just a somewhat related note here: When you want to say "you are" as a contraction, it's "you're" not "your". Sorry, but I'm seeing this more and more frequently and it drives me mad.

No one on this thread is an 'active' screen name since it was started years before registration. No way to tell if RC is still around or not . . .

I personally had two different 'screen names' back then.

To any of you who are looking for a private place to write including hall42, Zane Grey's cabin along the Rogue is still standing. https://www.flickr.com/photos/blmore...n/photostream/
It's about 5 miles down the Rogue from Graves Creek parking lot. Zane Grey would hike down to the cabin with his girlfriend and a lot of paper and come out in the fall with at least 2 books. (Zane's wife never came to Oregon).
It's too late this year to get a lookout job. I'll be going back to work at a lookout tower with solar power and propane for the stove and lights and a wood stove for heat.

Wow, tom! That's interesting. Good to know!

I like watching the sunsets from the Zane Grey lounge in Islamorada. Very different from that cabin! :-)
