Kodi, it is less than 3 miles from LAX to our Manhattan Mall on Sepulveda Blvd.
The town is only 3x3 miles large, but the distance to the downtown pier area from there, would be a couple miles walk. There are cabs waiting around Talbots at one of the entrances to the Mall for your return, if you don't get to the Pier. However, I'd still go for a walk on the MB Pier in light rain. There are restaurants right there facing the ocean. Beaches Restaurant has the best view at the foot of the pier.

Thank you Gardyloo and MBnancy.
This time next week I should be walking in Manhattan.
Imagine seeing the sun set over the Pacific and then rising again. (Ok, so I just had to get my globe down from the top of my desk to really get my head around this one!) It's so weird.

I'll go to the mall only if there is a real downpour. Other wise I will walk out on the pier. Beaches restaurant sounds great.

It's a good thing I have a million things to do this coming week. It will be time to head for the airport before I know it.

Just to add to MBnancy's info -- right outside the Macy's in the mall is a small movie theater. So if you do encounter rain, you can check that out as well. But hopefully you'll have a typical beach day and will get to enjoy downtown MB instead!

Thanks jv. I hope I get to enjoy the beach too and downtown MB.
All of you have been great and I appreciate all the help.
