Houston GTG Early November?
 

I'll be in Houston on business from November 4th until the 10th. Anyone else going to be availble to meet at that time? Let me know!

I just made my arrangements ( flight and hotel) today... still need to find a rental car... lots of taxes in your city!

I'll be at the Magnolia from Oct 31st to Nov 6th.
I have classes every day, all day, even Saturday and Sunday.
But I could do an evening GTG.
I'll arrive around 6pm on Halloween and I plan to leave Tuesday evening around 6pm.

My class is nearest Memorial Drive.. the HOustonian was the closest hotel and they were booked. Ithought I'd branch out and stay somewhere new ( to me) so I booked a rooom at the Lovett Inn in the &quot;Historic Museum District.&quot; It's suppposed to have a lot of shops and restaurants within walking sitance... but I don't think it's considered exactly downtown.

I will have a car and I'm not afraid to explore...:)

I stayed at Zaza last time I was in Houston. It's a great area, really nice.
I know nothing about Houston. I don't think our hotels are very far apart.
I am driving down from Dallas, so I will have a car as well.
My classes are at the University of Houston each day.

I fly in Sunday at 3:00.. and I'll keep Sunday and Monday night open until we hear back from rkkwan to see what works for him... maybe he'll have a good suggestion of a meeting place that will be central for all of us! I'm looking forward to it!

Never heard of Lovett Inn before, but it's &quot;mid-town&quot;, close to University of St. Thomas.

I work at the Texas Medical Center, and weeknights are fine! I don't eat out much, but there are plenty of restaurants in mid-town, along Montrose or Westheimer.

Oh, I mean Sunday night or Monday night are both fine with me!

Super! It looks like the GTG is official! I can be available anytime after 4 on Sunday or after 5 on Monday.

Would love to visit a ballpark... but it's the wrong season! Next time...

Could have sworn you worked at IAH with all the great info you post on this board regarding airlines... is that just from so much travel?!

moneygirl - I love travel, and I love planes. I like to know how the airlines industry work. ;)

I don't travel that much, but I am also responsible for booking most of my parents' travel and some of my relatives.

We are fortunate here in Houston that Continental is doing relatively well, and has lots of international routes that my family fly. It wasn't always like this, you know. ;)

About the ballparks... We local taxpayers are smart enough to vote down almost all proposal to use our taxes to fund the sports teams owners. So, they stuck the bills to the visitors in the form of rental car and hotel taxes. Oh well, at least the Texans are 2-0 so far. SHOCKING!

I'm not much of a sports fan... in fact, I thought they were the Astros! (Shows how much I know!)

I have a few friends in Houston who worked for Continental and they are huge fans, still loyal flyers... they must be good to their employees.

Looks like you'll have to help us out on finding a good meeting place... so get to it and let us know what you recommend! :)
