hey rr - yes,I would have definitely done so if i could've just remembered! i'm kicking myself now too, especially after looking at the food pics - i'm drooling! have it in my head to have dim sum this weekend now....

moldy, we live close by on Crosby St by midtown so having some friends over for a light brunch then walking over to allen parkway. for lunch recs, I would do farragos (http://www.farragohouston.com/) or open city (http://www.ochouston.com/). If you like seafood, try reef (http://www.reefhouston.com/). There's a handful of other restaurants in the area - I consider all of this walking distance to allen parkway although the restaurants are to one direction from my house and allen parkway the other. if you like crawfish, i think front porch is still doing their crawfish boil (but they also serve pub type food) and there's fish sushi across the street. there's 2 mexican places (cyclone anayas & el patio) but I have never been happy about cyclone's food so I would recommend el patio if you want mexican. what type of food were you looking for?

Maria - What type of food do we want? No idea! We are generally rather spontaneous! "Conveniently located" is the best bet. And... well... not spicy for the lack of restrooms in the area! lol

I'll check out the restaurants that you posted. Most are new to me. Thanks for something new to consider. :)

If you're watching the parade by the beginning which is taft, you are about 6-8 blocks from these restaurants I mentioned (heading towards westheimer - although westheimer is a ways away). there's also ibisa and charivari which is an eastern european place. plenty of choices in midtown and you are close by if, like i said, you want to watch by where the parade starts! it should be good weather for being out there (partly sunny) so not full sun!

It's Tuesday afternoon. I should have posted earlier to let everyone know RKKWAN did it again. It was a wonderful brunch. I see by the previous comments that you can all spot good food. I dropped Ray a personal e-mail Saturday to thank him for another job well done. Those of you who missed it, maybe next time.

Paula and Don, it was nice meeting both of you. Moldy it was nice being with you again. Rays folks are super. Let's do it again soon. Next time we will celebrate my twins.
