Have you tried E-Bay? They sometimes have tickets. Keep trying the box office ,maybe someone will turn in tickets they cannot use.

<BR>sandy: <BR> <BR>Don't panic. Being a procrastinator, I've bought tickets from scalpers for twenty years. One pays top dollar with the legitimate brokers. One pays far less with the guys on the street near the stadium. The closer to game time, the cheaper the price. In fact, I once paid UNDER face value for a Rose Bowl game ticket. The same thing happened for a Dodgers game. And don't fear them--simply examine the ticket for the correct date. After all, these guys are in business too (such as it is).

Went to Cards/Reds game Wednesday night. Many people were offering tickets. I didn't ask price as our party already had tix. <BR> <BR>But I can tell you, wannabe ticket brokers get very anxious close to game time and after the game has actually begun. They may have made their profit on those who arrive an hour or so before gametime, and are just trying to avoid a loss. They don't want to be stuck with tickets they won't get a dime for. Take the initiative - ask to examine the tickets - then make a below cost offer. They just might accept or at least sell at face value. <BR> <BR>Junior and Jim Edmonds were not even in the starting lineups tonight! <BR> <BR>Go and they will offer. <BR> <BR>k

We stayed at the Regal Riverfront July 7 and while I wouldn't say it was a dump it didn't live up to its ads. The new renovations were not in our part of the hotel, it was late 70's early 80's. The bathrooms were tiny with no counters at all. The lobby was beautiful but the elevators and hallways were dirty. Our room was clean though. They don't explain their parking charges very well so asked twice or you will get charged double if you don't follow their rules exactly. We had stayed at a Drury Inn in Arnold the night before and had a much nicer room and a free continental breakfast for less than half the price. You are definitely paying for the proximity to the ballpark. <BR>

I stayed at the Regal last week for two nights and wanted to report back as promised. Our room was clean with a great view. The other parts of the hotel did not seem as clean as I had seen before. It was very convenient to the ballpark and we loved that. They also let us check in 2 hours early which was a life saver as the ballgame started an hour early on Wed. night. They also did not charge us for a rollaway bed for our son which would have been an additional $40. I would stay there again. They had a friendly staff.

I know this is a tad off the subject, but Sandy you said that Jacobs Field had 405 consecutive sellouts, but that there are tickets available on any given night. How can tickets be available for a sold-out game? Do you mean tickets are available from scalpers? How many people does Jacobs Field hold? <BR> <BR>I'm not much of a fan of the junior league, but my nephew is going to school in Cleveland next year so I imagine I'll be visiting. So, Sandy, as a St. Louis area resident and Cardinals fan, I'm curious: How was your trip to St. Louis? Did you find tickets? Where did you sit and how much did you pay? Where did you stay, and did you like it? Overall impressions?

I'm not Sandy but we were there last week also and we will definitely be coming back. My kids went to their first ballgame(they are 5 and 7). We didn't have great tickets, we were almost at the top because we didn't buy them till a couple of days before. We used binoculars though and saw the game fine. <BR>We also went to the zoo. All of the animals were sleeping because it was so hot. The kids really loved the children's zoo(where you get to pet all the animals) It was worth the $4 ticket. We also went to Grant Farms and the Budweiser tour, they really liked the Clydesdale and we liked the complimentary beer. You have to like a city that gives away beer everywhere you go. All in all we really liked the city and it wasn't crowded like we where afraid it would be. The McDonald's on the paddleboat was the only thing we didn't wait in line for. The 5 year old says we have to go back for that.
